A large religious celebration for most of India, Garba is performed during Navaratri, the longest and largest dance festival in the world. Navaratri, literally meaning "nine nights" is the Hindu festival dedicated to Durga- the feminine form of divinity and hermine forms, from the fierce sword weilding Kaalraatiro, the smiling creator of the universe Kushmanda. This event is to promote South Asian culture. By hosting this annual event of ours, we can allow on and off campus UCSD students to participate
