Please briefly describe why this event fits into the A.S funding guidelines: This event fits into the A.S. funding guidelines because this Iftar, a gathering following a day fasting for muslims to break their fast, will provide students the opportunity to meet with each other and connect over food during this holy month of Ramadan. Additionally, for everyone in the UCSD community this allows them to meet new students, as well as, gain a better understanding of Ramadan and reflect with their fellow Muslim peers. In addition, we will be hosting a speaker to give a quick lecture before the iftar about getting prepared mentally and having the right mindset for the last 10 days of Ramadan.
