This event is an on-campus vintage market, bringing off-campus vendors often featured in Soul Real Market, Day-to-Day, Lucky Stars, Casually, etc. (Popular vintage markets that are hard to access without a car), to campus for students to shop, find new and sustainable pieces from. Their prices will be lowered to be 20- and under to keep the market affordable, and we will also be offering spaces to student vendors, hence the rentals necessary to get them started and set up. In an effort to make the market profitable for the vendors (so they will come to campus), we're requesting help funding parking for them since they are transporting their equipment and paying the $50 merch fee, the $60 parking fees will make the market a much bigger cost for them, and UCSD visitor spaces are hard to find, especially for non-students. On top of their scarcity, they also have 2-hour limits, so the vendors would have to leave their booths unattended to move their car every two hours, making the parking reservation quite necessary. The event is very similar to the well-loved Momentum market which used to be run by campus entities years ago.
