AMWA’s Spring Formal Picnic directly meets the A.S. Funding criteria for Programming Funds because it is an event open to all undergraduates, and the requested food is an allowable expenditure. Our picnic fulfills multiple A.S. Funding Principles, including working to advance student interests by providing pre-health career guidance, enhancing student wellness by fostering community and reducing isolation, and educating through positive learning outcomes via professional development content. Additionally, AMWA meets all mandatory requirements: our event directly relates to the organization’s purpose, and we are a CSI-registered group with an undergraduate majority. Providing food is essential to incentivize attendance during dinnertime, ensure maximum engagement, and create the welcoming environment necessary to realize the educational and community-building goals of the meeting, justifying the expense.
