AS funding will cover the cost of materials needed for this hands-on workshop, including solar cells, rechargeable batteries, LEDs, transistors, wiring, glass jars, and soldering supplies. This support allows the event to remain free and accessible to all UCSD students. Funding enables participants to learn basic circuitry and renewable energy concepts while building a solar-powered lantern they can keep.
