Hello Keebs and Friends is a Sanrio-themed keyboard meet designed to make the mechanical keyboard hobby more accessible and engaging for UCSD undergraduate students. The event will feature a variety of themed games, sponsored opportunity drawings that provide keyboards and keyboard-related items to attendees, and an Artist Alley where vendors and creators can showcase and sell their art and keyboard-related products. The event will take place across Matthews Quad and the Multi-Purpose Room, where attendees are encouraged to bring and display their unique mechanical keyboards. This creates an interactive environment where students can ask questions, learn from experienced hobbyists, and build connections within the keyboard community. By providing this environment, new and prospective keyboard enthusiasts are able to see, experience, and potentially obtain their own keyboards, lowering barriers to entry into the hobby. While limited public attendance supports sponsor participation and enhances the overall experience, non-UCSD attendees will be charged in accordance with A.S. policies, ensuring that funds are returned to support student programming. UCSD undergraduate students remain the primary focus and beneficiaries of the event. Through its combination of educational content, creative activities, and community engagement, Hello Keebs and Friends aligns with A.S. funding guidelines by prioritizing UCSD undergraduate students and providing a free, accessible, and enriching experience that promotes student involvement, skill development, and campus community-building.
