Mentor/Mentee Speed Dating

There wasn’t much of a difference in the estimated and actual attendance numbers. On the AS form, none of the graduate students could access the form as they had @ucsdhealth emails instead of @ucsd emails. Also, the room was a little difficult to locate, and we did not post about the location until much later in the evening.

The goal of the event was to introduce PPS members to the AphA mentors and have a preliminary round of talking to get to know each other.

The event was a success! We had just enough food for everyone, and everyone seemed to enjoy talking with one another.

Our most valuable resource was Camille, the president of AphA, for collaborating with us and helping us obtain the mentors for the event.

There were more mentees than mentors, so we had to have 2-on-1 instead of the planned 1-on-1. We also did not have enough food because more people signed up than planned, but then some people did not show, which allowed everyone to have food.

I would increase the food order to make sure everyone has food. I would also ask the AphA president to promote the Mentor/Mentee program to the P1’s to get more mentors.

We should post about how to get to the location earlier in the day and maybe be near the location’s entrance to guide members to the exact location.

We are using the AS form for our attendance to streamline the attendance process. Therefore, is there any way to ask about their name so we have something other than their email?
