oSTEM Spring GBM #2: Game Night!

We had slightly fewer attendees than anticipated, which we were able to adjust our costs for ahead of time.

Our purpose was to create a bonding opportunity among LGBTQ+ STEM students by providing a relaxed game night atmosphere.
Yes! Students socialized over games of pool and card games in the game room.
Yes. We had trouble with the QR code - this was our first time keeping the QR code digital, and not printing it out. Some students had difficulty scanning the code and were not able to fill out the attendance form. Our total recorded attendance on the AS verification form was 6 - our actual total was 14.

For our next event we would print the AS Attendance Form QR Code to hopefully avoid similar technological issues.

Unfortunately we are unable to submit photo evidence of our GBM attendance. oSTEM is strongly protective of our members' privacy as members of the LGBTQ+ community. As a result, our policy is to not take any photographs of the group without explicit consent. Since we were in the game room, we shared the space with students who are not oSTEM members, and so we were unable to collect explicit consent from everyone in the room. Therefore we took no photos of our group, to avoid potentially outing any students in attendance. If you have any further questions please let us know and we will be happy to answer them!
