Bioengineering Experience Conference

Attendance was a little lower than anticipated (100 students originally anticipated) but we still hit the 10 dollars per person AS requirement, I think there was a due to a changing the scope of the event last minute which caused changes in advertisement and potential audience, and the fact that the event was only for a few hours unlike our other conference like events are all day. Maybe having BE Experience be longer with more poster sessions would be a good idea in the future to increase student attendance numbers.

The Bioengineering Experience Conference is an event to showcase the opportunities and interdisciplinary focus of the Bioengineering or related topics at UCSD. We will start the event by having a 1-hour poster session, all with 15-20 research projects, and then have a professor panel of 6-8 faculty to talk about their experiences while applying engineering to medicine. We will also provide free food to the attendees and the volunteers.

Yes, despite making last minute changes to the event we had solid turnout of 43 attendees and 10 presenters.

The orignal estimated attendance was 100, but that was before we decided to not have companies attend and have BE Experience focus more on highlighting academic research on campus. Since we spent 139.97, we still hit the 10 dollars per person limit for food.

If any complications arose BE Experience event planners along with present executive board would've handled them accordingly.

Maybe have the event longer with more poster sessions, so we would have an opportunity to get even more undergraduate students to attend.
