Technical Seminar

The difference happened as it was week 7 and a lot of people who had registered did not end up showing up since it was a weekday and a lot of people had classes. We reached out to them and asked what the reason for the absence was and this was the common answer.

The purpose of the Technical Seminar was to provide students with an opportunity to learn about Motor encoders and high precision accuracy in them from industry professional Daniel Wiseman of Heidenhain. The event aimed to foster knowledge-sharing, spark discussions on cutting-edge research, and encourage networking among students interested in robotics, and motion technologies. It also served as a platform for attendees to engage with experts in the field while enjoying refreshments. It also allowed greater outreach in the university for our club so more people know about the club and could get an insight of what we are working with as a club.
Yes we consider the event to be a success as our student organization gained valuable insights into the new technology that heidenhain have been working on. The students of UCSD were very engaging and asked really good questions from Daniel as well to keep the discussion very insightful.
It may differ slightly as we originally placed a check in counter at the entrance of the PC Forum. We sat there and had people sign up as they were coming in. But once the event started, we had to leave the table and get inside to listen to the talk as well and as a result a lot of people who showed up later may not have signed up even though we gave a reminder after the speakers were done talking.
No complications
Have it earlier during the quarter and at a better time to have a much bigger attendance.
I feel it was marketed very well on all our socials and gave a lot of reminders as well.
