There were 33 less students in the actual attendance than the estimated. This may have been because of some students not signing in through the portal. Additionally many students who were interested in the event were not able to attend due to class at the same time.

The purpose of the event was to introduce the bit-byte program to new members and those who are interested in joining the 2025 iteration. It was also used to allow bits and bytes to meet new people with impromptu speedfriending during the second part of the event.

We do consider this event a success because there were a lot of bits who were interested, along with a larger amount of bytes than expected who showed up for infosession. We also may have had a lower attendance than expected, however, we were unable to order a larger amount of boba with the AS funding provided meaning that a large amount of attendees were unable to receive boba.


There were a few complications such as our food order not being received until around the start time of the event. This meant that we only were able to distribute the boba at the end. Additionally, we did not have enough boba for every attendee meaning that only bits received it before we ran out of our supply. We were able to work around this by communicating with other board members who assisted with the event and changing distribution times and order. Between the two bit byte directors, managing the main attendees, the late students, and the issues with food, were not a concern.

The event could have been improved by advertising the event for more people interested in being a byte. This is because the ratio of bits to bytes were very much favored towards bits meaning that there were times when bits did not have a byte to talk to, even though bytes were talking to groups of bits at a time.

Possibly sending more announcements on discord but otherwise not much changes necessary. The instagram takeover for bit byte directors on the day of info session was well received.
