Hack your Brain

Open Details

Attendance was lower than estimated due to limited promotion time and competing midterm season priorities. Future events could benefit from earlier advertising, cross-posting through multiple student org channels, and clearer messaging around interactivity and takeaways to better attract students. Also there wasn’t any food.

The goal of the event was to spark curiosity about how the brain works by exploring it through psychology, cognitive science, and computer science. Rather than focusing on productivity or self-help, the event aimed to help students view the brain as a complex, adaptive system and gain insight into how factors like perception, attention, memory, and technology interact with brain function.

While attendance was lower than expected, the event was successful in terms of engagement and discussion with attendees. Participants were actively involved, asked thoughtful questions, and expressed interest in the topics, indicating that the content resonated with those who attended.

Improvements would include securing food, increasing interactive activities such as live demonstrations or audience participation segments, and adjusting the timing to avoid peak midterm periods.

Advertisements could be posted earlier and more frequently, include more visually engaging graphics, and emphasize the interactive and curiosity-driven nature of the event. Partnering with relevant student organizations and using social media stories or short teaser content could also improve reach.
