Transpose Platform
The purpose of this event was to help immerse students in a realistic start up environment, where the prototyping workflows are extremely rapid and market research is crucial. The students received fruitful and realistic feedbacks from actual startup founders under the leading venture capital firm Y-Combinator, moreover, actual employee from a Venture Capital firm Transpose platform.
I consider it to be a success as we achieved confirmed attendance above the expected attendance. Moreover, it was our first event of this scale and we were proud that it proceeded without any major structural issues while involving prominent figures in the start up scene as a stakeholder.
Although we reminded participants multiple times to scan the A.S. QR code during the event, it was structured as an “open venue” event where students were allowed to participate from anywhere after the opening ceremony rather than remaining in a single room. As a result, not all participants were present when the QR code scanning was requested, which likely explains the discrepancy.
The audio system was not working throughout the event.
Although we were still able to verify attendance using Luma check-in data collected on-site., for future events, we plan to strengthen attendance verification by having all participants also scan the A.S. QR code at the time of check-in to ensure our reported attendance matches A.S. tracking.
I believe our promotions were successful as our sign up reached 237 which was above the room capacity; however there is a room for improvement in audience retention, as only half of that number showed up on the actual day. I believe persistent promotion even after accumulating the initial wave of attendance could be a potential solution.
I believe a text box that supports multiple lines would make it a lot easier for us to give through feedbacks.
