Afghan Kite Making Social

The estimate was 20 people and we had 19 students show up! I would say this met our expected attendance and we had a great turn out and met a lot of new students as-well.

The goal of this event was to bring together the Afghan UCSD community through a traditional event that is very common in Afghanistan. Kite making is one long tradition of afghans that we usually do during the spring quarter and sit outside with friends and family, so this event was like bringing home to our community!

Yes, this event was a big success! We had a lot of new students show up to this event and we all just had an amazing time overall. Students were grateful to have an event that reminded them of home and decorating them made it that much more fun.

I'm not too sure since I don't see access to the AS attendance verification. As a board we did make sure to check that people submitted their applications before handing out kite building kits. However, If there were some deviations there may have just been some students who missed clicking submit or filling the form.

No complications.

Everything was smooth and had a great event. The only thing I would improve would be to start promoting the event sooner.

We would improve our advertisements and promotions by starting to post them more in advanced, and reaching out to other organizations whom members may be interested in our club to repost and spread the word as-well.

Everything was good.
