WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OR GOAL OF THE EVENT?
This TASA event is a relaxed community gathering centered around making and eating tangyuan, a traditional Taiwanese dessert commonly enjoyed during Lunar New Year. Since winter break doesn’t line up with the holiday, this event gives students a chance to come together on campus, celebrate as a community, and learn about the cultural meaning behind tangyuan. While enjoying food, TASA board members will each share a short, presentation about what tangyuan represents and how it’s connected to Taiwanese traditions. The event creates a welcoming space for UCSD students to connect through food, culture, and shared experiences.
